The Tunkhannock Area High School Pool.

Levels I, II & III will be from 5:00 - 5:50 Mon., Tues., Wed., Thur.
Tiny Tots, Levels IV, V, VI from 6:00 - 6:50
2nd session will be April 5th-21st, 2010

Course Descriptions

Course Certification Target Audience Content Summary
FIRST AID 3 YEARS Business and industry employees or individuals who want or need basic first aid skills without training in CPR. Basic care for injuries or sudden illnesses until advanced medical care can take over. Handling emergency situations; precausions against basic disease transmission; recognizing and caring for bleeding wounds and sudden illness; and imobilizing muscle,bone and joint injuries.Does not include information on breathing and cardiac emergensies. Meets OSHA Guidelines for First Aid.

ADULT CPR/AED
(Automated External Defibrillator)
1 YEAR Business and industry employees or individuals who want or need CPR and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) training. Recognizing and handling emergency sutuations; caring for breathing and cardiac emergencies, performing CPR on adults and using an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) on victims of cardiac arrest until advanced medical help is available. Basic precautions for preventing disease transmission.
4.5 hours
CPR- Child/Infant 1 YEAR Employees, Members of the community and civic organizations, teachers,childcare and daycare workers, parents and grandparents. Preventing,recognizing and providing basic care for breathing and cardiac emergencies in infants and children under 12 until advanced medical help can take over. Basic precautions for preventing disease transmission. Includes optional child AED (Automated External Defibrillator) training.

CPR/AED FOR THE PROFESSIONAL RESCUER 1 YEAR LIFEGUARDS
2 YEARS ALL OTHERS
Public Safety personnel; lifeguards, emergency response team members, first aid station workers, students at police, fire and rescues acadamies, health care professionals and athletic trainers. Recognizing and caring for breathing and cardiac emergencies, two rescuer CPR, use of resusitation mask and bag-valve mask resusitator. Also knowledge and skills needed to care for victims of sudden cardiac arrest through use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
BABY SITTERS TRAINING NO EXPIRATION Young people 11 - 15 years old who want knowledge, skills and confidence to care for infants through school-aged children. Basic skills to care for infants through school aged children. First Aid, safety issues and injury prevention.
